Siena

Sorry for the lack of pictures and the short verse, but since I am in France and using a bizarre keyboard, I will try to keep this from hurting my brain too much :)
With the load tone of the alarm, Matthew shot out of bed and before 8 was on the road. I gave a hug, and a farewell later, I was back in bed. A couple of hours later I packed and headed to Siena!
It is gorgeous
here, and very hot and sunny. Most of the town looks like this

The city is on a ridge, and the narrow streets run along the ridge, or plunge donw to lower levels. There are no cars allowed, so it is quiet and very preserved.
I didn't sleep
much last night, and had too much to drink. So, I napped in the
Piazza . It is huge, kind of like a bowl, and built in the mid-14
century. The Piazza is the naturel social center of Siena, as you
could see from these pictures...
