Our first layout was assembled in the Olympic room of building 27 at Microsoft's Redmond corporate campus.
This was an L shaped layout which used two end modules to achieve continuous running even though we did not have enough corners to build the traditional oval so often associated with NTRAK layouts.
There were a total of 11 modules in the layout which extended 26.5' on one side and 21' on the other.
Our goal was to get some experience assembling the layout and "iron out the bugs". Since we expected the layout to have some glitches this first time around we decided not to publicize the event. Nevertheless, we did have several visitors.
Perhaps the highlight of the event was the 50+ car train that was assembled on Sunday.
Here is a diagram of the layout.
