News Update, 10-14-2004

We celebrated our first anniversary a few days early at The Asylum, our favorite restaurant in Jerome, AZ. This proved to be an excellent idea, since Laurie went into labor early Sunday morning. She spent the first hour thinking it was intestinal distress due to eating such an enormous dinner the night before.

Welcome, Kate!

Katherine Louise Geodakov was born on 9-20-2004 at 11:27 a.m. If you are keeping track of this sort of thing, she was born by c-section after 29 hours of labor! She weighed 8 lbs. 8.5 oz and was 20 inches long. She had a perfect round head and was very alert, even in the operating room. The maternity ward nurses each came to me and confessed she was their favorite baby ... her nursery nickname was "the Gerber baby."
