Image Notes

In the last few years, more and more of our images are captured digitally.

We each carry a ~5 Mpixel Canon Digital Elph. (currently S500 and S400) shooting in the 'L' mode (1600x1200) onto a 1Gb CF-I card which gives each camera a large image capacity. We have been very pleased with the image quality and the form factor is small and compact, so we almost always have a camera at hand.  There is even an underwater-housing available for snorkeling or use on boats and beaches.  Finally, by having a pair of similar cameras, we can share our spare NB-1LH batteries if necessary.  You can find a detailed review at dpreview.com.

Since Nov 2002, we also use Nikon Digital SLR bodies with  Lexar 4 Gb CF cards shooting  mostly in 'Fine' [.jpg] (2000x3008) mode for a capacity of ~1000 images.  This gives us the power and flexibility of using our existing Nikon SLR lenses and there is no 'digital camera shutter delay'.

Film images are captured using Nikon N80 or N90 AF bodies and/or a Nikon-FM (manual) body.  Most are scanned at the time of development.

Linda performs some cropping and touch-up with Adobe Photoshop.
