The Richard Bolitho Novels by Alexander Kent

About the Series

This series follows the career of Richard Bolitho from lowly midshipman on up through the ranks. I've just started this series, but I've liked what I've read so far. I've only read one book but the impression I'm left with is that I'll like it better than the Hornblower saga, but not as well as the Aubrey series. Again, I'd recommend these be read in chronological order so some outcomes aren't spoiled when you go back to fill in the earlier books when you get 'captured' by the series.
