After high school I attended UNC Chapel Hill where I had a phenomenal 4 years learning to drink beer and love basketball, while doing a bit of studying on the side. I majored in public health nutrition and was active in Hillel and the Daily Tar Heel (UNC's student newspaper). I went straight from college (mistake?) to medical school at Johns Hopkins in Baltimore. I am now a third-almost-fourth-year medical student, and unfortunately my life consists of mostly work with only occasional socializing, cooking, and mountain biking. I am neither married nor single, but with a wonderful boyfriend who is a graduate student from New York City. I will be applying for a residency in pediatrics to begin in July of 99, and hope to complete subspecialty training in Hematology/Oncology. I chose pediatrics because it seemed like the only experience I have had in medical school where I was consistently happy to be doing what I was doing. (Plus kids don't smell as bad as grownups and they're cuter.) I would love to go back to Chapel Hill at some point but will probably do my training in the Northeast--Philly, NY, Boston all are options. I hope to meet up with some of you in the future and have enjoyed hearing from you all via email. Best wishes to everyone of health and happiness. --Gerri

If anyone would like to get in touch with them, try the following e-mail address: davbauman@jtsa.edu
New Entry 8/18/99 Mindi Bell (St. Pierre) Mindi writes that she was in NER BBYO, class of 1988. She was married and then divorced, and has a two-year-old son.
Updated 8/18/99 Dara Blachman (Previous update:) What to say about my life over the last 10 years?... First of all, it has been a lot of fun to get all of these e-mails over the last year and catch up on what everyone has been doing with their life. Lots of exciting things- my life sounds pretty dull in comparison. I do have to say that my Kallah experience was very important in terms of developing my own Jewish identity, as I know it was for a lot of other people as well. The next summer, I went to Israel with BBYO and several people from Kallah/ILTC- which was quite a fun time. After that, I graduated from high school and headed a little further south (from Virginia) to Duke University for college. While there, in addition to getting an education, I became converted to a huge college basketball fan (or fanatic) as Duke won the national championship my freshman and sophomore years and returned to the final four (in Charlotte, which I attended) again my senior year. one big adjustment to living in California (where I am now) is not getting all of the games on TV. Anyway, in college, I was pretty involved in Jewish life on campus and ran into a few Kallah and ILTC people both at Duke and UNC. I spent another summer in Israel after my sophomore year, this time working on a kibbutz for a few weeks and then travelling some on my own. It was while I was at Duke that I decided that I was really interested in child psychology and after working one summer at a camp for emotionally disturbed kids and doing a senior thesis in psych., I figured that was what I wanted to do with my life. So, after graduation and another trip to Israel (this time on an exchange living with a family and teaching English at a day camp) I stayed on in the lovely town of Durham, NC to get a job as a research assistant in the psychiatry dept. in order to get experience to get me into grad school. I guess it worked, because after doing that for two years, I made the HUGE move across the country to Berkeley, CA where I am now finishing my second year in a PHD program in clinical psychology. I enjoy living in California, although it has been quite a culture shock in many ways. but, San Francisco is an amazing city. School is good and I really love what I am doing, but I am pretty hectic most of the time trying to balance everything. I will be here for the long haul, though (about 2 or 3 more years), so am trying to get used to it. right now most of my work is with children, and in particular children with Attention deficit disorder, which is something that is a pretty hot topic these days, so it is always a challenge. So, that is pretty much it. as for my social life, I guess that I am one of the few single people still out there! :) Looking forward to seeing everyone at the reunion and catching up more. -Dara :)
(taken from a mass e-mail) Hi everyone. As the reunion is almost upon us, I wanted to take the opportunity to jump on the e-mail trail and let you know what I've been up to for the past ten years (wow, that's a long time . . . .). After high school, I spent the majority of my college years at the University of Oregon in Eugene. While there I ended up working for an event management company that brought all of the national and international track and field events to the area, among other activities. No, I'm not a runner, but enjoyed planning for the sport and working with the athletes. From there, I moved back to Portland, went backpacking around Europe and Turkey for 3 months and then came back to reality. I then went into business for myself as an event consultant/contractor and worked on many interesting and fun events in the NW. A little over two years ago, I found myself in the middle of a great opportunity and joined a high-tech public relations agency in Portland, called Waggener Edstrom. I've been working here ever since as the internal Events Producer, within our Creative Services division called Zebra Design. My job has been to plan and manage large-scale or highly weighted media events for our clients, within the high-technology industry. Basically, I travel all over the US for the big industry events, product launches, press conferences, etc.... It has been a great opportunity for me and I have really grown from my experiences. But this page of my life is recently coming to a close because I am moving to the East coast. Yes, I have finally decided to take the plunge and move back east. So, my plan is to live in Avalon, NJ for the summer and then find a job and an apartment in NYC in the fall. Why Avalon, you ask? Well, about 5 years ago, I dediced to visit Evan when he was attending Drexel University. While there a friend of mine from Oregon was in on a shore house in Avalon and thought it would be fun for me to visit for the weekend. So, needless to say, I have been visiting friends in Avalon for the past 5 summers and am now ready to spend the entire summer there. I am in a shore house with a whole bunch of friends from Philly, who will be commuting there on the weekends . . . so I'll be all by my lonesome during the week and would love to have any visitors :). I leave Portland on May 31st, so I will arrive just in time to make the reunion. And, I'm driving across country, so any tips you can provide would be great! I am very excited about my new east coast adventures and look forward to seeing as many of you as possible at the reunion. If you are unable to make the reunion, but would like to get in touch, please don't hesitate. I will be a stranger in a new area and look forward to friendly faces. Here's my new address and info (June-Beginning of September):
P.S. Avalon is about 1 1/2hr. from Philly and about 2 1/2hr. from NY Looking forward to seeing everyone in a couple of weeks. :)Elana Bodner

Updated 8/19/99 Aimee Colker (Previous update 12/19/98:) In a quick bite: I moved down to DC in September to work for the CBS News Election Unit and cover (what else?) Election '98 -- and a few meetings that went on in the study ajoining the Oval Office. If you're planning on visiting the Nation's Capital -- please give me holler! (Previous update:) I just want everyone to know how much it means to me that we're gathering for the Kallah/ILTC '88 10th reunion. While we've all met lots of new and interesting people -- husbands, wives, soul mates, etc -- since our summer in Starlight, PA, I am so happy we have this opportunity to re-connect after all these years. We may leave this reunion weekend and never see each other again, but I will always treasure my BBYO experience. That said, where have I been the last 10 years? Well here's a quick look back: Arrived in Boston in 1990 and haven't left since. Spent 4 years at Boston University (Go Terriers!), studied Journalism and Japanese, and became a Hockey fan. Originally my goal was to become a Foreign Correspondent from Asia, and I even began pursuing this when I studied in Japan during my Senior year. During the program, I lived with a family in a small town between Kobe and Osaka, took classes at a local university, studied Tea Ceremony, and even climbed Mt. Fuji. What an experience! But then I was bitten by the bug Politics. Just 6 days after Graduation, I got my first job: Producing Political Talk Shows at a 24-hour all news station. I booked some really cool guests, chased Ted Kennedy on the campaign trail, and even won an Emmy for my work. For the past 3 years, I have been working as the Political Producer at the NBC affiliate in Boston. What does a Produer do you ask? Well we are the brains behind the reporters -- just kidding! I am responsible for researching, setting up, and editing Political stories, as well keeping tabs on key legislation and during a campaign season, following candidates on the stump. I am involved with a few projects outside of work. Primarily I am a volunteer with the Vilna Center for Jewish Heritage in Boston. Founded at the turn of the century, the Vilna Shul was an extension of the shtetl the immigrants from Vilna, Lithuania left behind when they came to America. I am giving tours of this beautiful little synagogue tucked away on Beacon Hill, as well as doing a little PR, painting, and cleaning. It's a lot of fun and especially meaningful for me, as my Great-grandmother emigrated to NYC from Vilna. The Vilna Shul will never be a living synagogue again; instead, we are creating a museum and cultural center to chronicle the immigrant experience in Boston. If you're ever in town, I would love to give you a tour! So, without making this sound too much like a personal ad, what do I see in my future? Who knows! There are so many ideas floating around in my head: Graduate School or maybe starting my own video production company. Again -- Hope you're all happy and healthy! 10-years is a long time. So, let's meet back here same time, same place in 2008!
Updated 8/19/99 Dave and Jessica Fields Just wanted to let everyone know that my wife and I bought a new townhouse. Our new information is: (see above) Hopefully, I will talk to all of you soon! Dave (Previous update:) I will be getting married 4 months after the reunion on October 17, 1998. My fiancé and I met while we were visiting our grandparents in Florida (they have been friends since our parents were born). I went to Towson State University in Baltimore and majored in Mass Communications with a concentration in Advertising. I grew up in Maryland and stayed there after I graduated and worked at the Washington Jewish Week selling advertising space. 2 ˝ years after I graduated I moved up to New Jersey and worked at the corporate office of Toys R Us as an Advertising Coordinator and now I work at The Sawtooth Group, an Advertising Agency, as an Account Coordinator. I have kept in touch with a few people from my hometown like Ben Brodsky and one other person, Merri Reisman. I am living in Scotch Plains, NJ with my fiancé.
Updated 8/30/99: 3209 E. 10th Street, Apt. D40 (Previous update, taken from a mass e-mail) Hi ya'll! I've enjoyed hearing from so many of you through my screen; I've resisted adding my own update to the mix thus far as I'd truly hoped to be seeing everyone in DC. However, it appears now that I really won't be able to attend, so I thought I'd send everyone a huge HAVE FUN from Cincinnati. After two years of ho-humming, I have decided to take the plunge and return to school in the fall. I'll be attempting an MBA in Marketing, and so I have to horde my funds for this new adventure. :-( Next reunion, though, maybe I'll arrive in my own private jet! (Hey. A gal can dream!) Just to fulfill the "where I've been and what I'm doing" portion of the show, I graduated from Indiana University in Dec. 1993. During my tenure there, I spent six exciting months studying in Santiago, Chile, and yes, I'm still somewhat fluent. I moved to New Orleans for almost a year and loved my exposure to the South and Cajun. After my engagement fell apart (yuk) I moved back to Cincinnati and I'm now doing packaging design and marketing for a manufacturing company. (No. Not P&G). That's about it. So, enjoy the weekend for me and sing lots! (VIVA HADAS) And, if anyone has any advice on MBA stuff - I'm still trying to decide whether to go back to Indiana or to do Vanderbilt in Nashville - I'd *really* appreciate any insights. I've been accepted to both and can't decide which to attend. Shalom to all. Erin Fish
(New 12/22/98) 102 Candle Terrace SW Hi everyone! I'm not sure who remembers me or not but I thought I'd add my own little update! (For those of you who don't remember me, I am the one who made Notre Dame, or was that the Great Dane famous!?!) Actually, that story has haunted me to this very day! To make the last 10 years short ... After high school I moved to Vancouver, BC where Leana Bondar and I where roommates for 4 years (she has since gotten married and is expecting her first baby March 1999). I went to Simon Fraser University where I took Communications. I opened a funky little pool hall/cafe with my boyfriend, Richard which turned out to be quite successful. We sold it in February 1997 and moved to Calgary where we have invested in some real estate. I'm not sure how long we will be here, Richard just doesn't understand Calgary (who can blame him?)so we may move back Vancouver (his home town). I also work at a property management company which owns and manages buildings and large shopping malls throughout Western Canada ... I am a leasing assistant which I find quite fascinating. I have been dating Richard Berman for the last 4 years, maybe this year will be 'it'...? I still keep in touch with Erica Rabin (she is now an emergency doctor in Edmionton), Leana (Bondar)Gaerber, Julie Levy (who I haven't heard from in a while ... hint, hint)and I periodically hear from Tanya Gordon. I love hearing about all of you and I am so disappointed that I missed the reunion. From all of the pictures it looks like you all had a great time. Keep sending them in so I don't feel so left out! I hope to keep reading about how well all of you are doing ... and I look forward to hearing from some of you soon!
Update 8/18/99 Rachel D. Gebaide (Armel) (From previous update:) Hi everybody! I am (finally) about to graduate from law school. My current email address is good only through May 4. It has been wonderful to hear from everyone. I am still not sure if I can attend reunion, but if I can, I will see you soon! Take care, Rachel
Updated 8/18/99 Lori Gershenson I have been living in Boston, MA for the past year. I took a position as Teen Director at the Jewish Community Center in Marblehead, MA (which is right on the ocean). This was a brand new position, so I have had fun creating this program. I also worked as the Assitant Camp Director for the JCC day camp. It was a blast being back at camp. Hope everyone is doing well. Mazel tov to all that got married or had a baby. Lori (Previous update:) I received my BA in Jewish Studies with a concentration in Sociology and History from the University of Judaism, in LA. I studied abroad my junior year at Hebrew University in Jerusalem. Upon graduating, I moved to Pittsburgh, PA to go the Unviersity of Pittsburgh for my Master in Social Work. I remained in Pittsburgh to work at the Jewish Education Institute, where I worked on an Israel savings program for children in the Pittsburgh area and helped coordinate many young leadership programs. Currently, I am the Program Director for the Hillel Foundation of Greater Houston. I plan social, religious, social action and education programs for both undergraduates and grad students at Rice University, University of Houston, Baylor College of Medicine, and South Texas College of Law. I have been to Israel a couple of times since graduating from college and even led a teen trip with Heather Shore. I am hoping to move back to the LA area and continue working with Hillel. My address beginning in August
(This is my parents address but it will get forwarded to me) My email will remain the same: Ldg5@aol.com Hope all is well with you. Have fun at the reunion. Lori
Updated 3/14/99 Hello all! Just to give you an update, as of 2/20/99, I am moving into a house with a few other guys. My new address and phone # are: Evan Gold Thanks! (Previous update:) Family SINGLE, although I have been dating a wonderful woman (Erin) who recently moved from California to be with yours truly. We met while I was getting my MBA and she was completing her law degree from the Univ. of Pittsburgh. Work I got a Bachelors degree (Marketing) in 1994 from Drexel University in Philadelphia, PA (same school as Julie Levy and Ken Monaco). After graduation, I went to work for Macys department stores. I started out in North Jersey and then worked my way into the flagship store in Herald Square, New York City. Worked there for a few years and then decided, to hell with this, Im going back to school! Went to the University of Pittsburghs Katz Graduate School of Business to get an MBA. Great experience - if anyone is interested in getting an MBA, I highly recommend it. From there, I was recruited to work for an independent retail consulting firm. LakeWest Group was a natural progression for me because this firm only does management consulting for retailers. My retail background at Macys has come in quite handy. Now, many of you may be thinking what the heck is consulting? I know its a trivial term, but essentially, we help retailers improve their business. In most cases, it means assisting in the selection/implementation of computer systems that solve Year 2000 problems. LakeWest is by no means a programming firm. We usually act as a third party in representing the retailers best interests when they need to make technological enhancements. Of course, we do strategy, finance, and supply chains projects too. The work requires a lot of traveling which is OK by me. Its provided me with a means to meet up with so many friends and family members on the weekends. Kallah/ILTC Beside all of the spiritual and leadership knowledge I gained at Kallah and ILTC, I look back on that summer as having solidified the bulk of my personal relationships that summer. When you think back on it, its hard to believe (much less explain to outsiders) that 7 shorts weeks have created incredible personal bonds that have grown stronger over time. It really is amazing. Places From Philadelphia, I moved to North Jersey and then to Pittsburgh. Currently, I am living in Cleveland, Ohio. Although with my hectic travel schedule, I am rarely there. I want to take this opportunity to thank Denise and everyone else who has helped make this reunion possible. It has been a lot of hard work, but it also has been a lot of fun. When I hear people comment on how wonderful it is to talk to people who have "disappeared" over the past 10 years, it makes me feel really good to know that weve helped bridge the gap.
Updated 8/30/99: 3221 Commerce Street #402 Dan writes: I have a new job and a new address. If you find yourself in Dallas or passing through, give me a call! (Previous update:) Family: I am still a family unit of one. Single. Work: After a year at Indiana University, I ended up graduating from the much cheaper and warmer University of Georgia. It was during this time that I decided to succumb to the devils in my head that told me to go into advertising. To do that, I went to the Creative Circus, a two-year school in Atlanta that trains people to work in the creative side of advertising. So now I'm a copywriter for an advertising agency in Nashville. I write magazine ads, newspaper ads, radio and TV commercials and other assorted forms of propaganda. Basically, I get paid to sit around and make up stuff. Which is very, very cool. Friends: I regret that I haven't stayed in touch with many people. But I've run into some folks here and there. Kallah/ILTC: I learned to like Reggae music. Other than that, my life didn't change too drastically. Places: Right now, I'm in Nashville, Tennessee, and hopefully not for more than another year or so. The travelling I've done has been to various cities around the good ol' US of A.
(taken from a mass e-mail) Unfortunately, I will not be able to attend the re-union in DC. I do look forward to catching the next one, though. However, we can sort of catch up via the information age. The manacles of modesty have been shed. Check out our new web page at: http://www.mba1999.hbs.edu/agoldman If anyone is in the Boston area, please give me a call. cheers, amir goldman
The Skinny on Rael Family Single. Work I work at Showtime Networks (for the past three years). I work as an internal consultant specializing in contract negotiations. I went to Northwestern University in Chicago, where I majored in Communication Studies. Places I am a happy resident of Manhattan where I enjoy hanging out with past BBYOers: Brian Shuman, Jacquelyn Kobat and Naomi Weinburg. Prior to this, I lived in Atlanta, GA for three years after graduation where I hung out with past BBYOers: Jason Ett, Scott Silverstein, Marc Hershovitz and many others. Kallah/ILTC Changed my life by putting me in touch with the greater Jewish community in the country. One can get fairly isolated in North Carolina. While I chose the path of business (Im no rabbi), I am firmly in touch with my past, my religion, and my ethics in large part due to a great spiritual summer in 1988.
(Updated E-mail & phones 12/14/98) Home: 416-385-1361 (Previous update:) Hi everyone! Its J.J.! Im very excited for our upcoming reunion. I cant wait to see everyone and hear about the last ten years. .So here it is, the last 10 years of my life! (in a nutshell) I went to Carleton University in Ottawa, Ontario (Canada) from 1991-1995 and graduated with an honours B.A. in Mass Communications. Aside from having the most incredible four years and meeting my future husband, I spent many long hours training in the Pool as Captain of the Womens Waterpolo team. (I experienced many black eyes but you should see what the other girls looked like!) Following University, I began working in the family business (The Characters Talent Agency) and I am currently a Talent/Sports Agent. We represent actors and actresses in the areas of film, television, theatre and commercial work. Im getting married May 18, 1998 (3 weeks before the reunion) to Michael Gossack. Michael is a Sports Broadcaster. He and I are then off to Italy for our honeymoon and following that I will be coming to the reunion "solo". We both reside in Toronto and plan to stay here. Cant wait to see you all! J.J. Goldhar

(taken from a mass e-mail) I just wanted to let everyone know that I'm bummed that I can't be with on the reunion. Its been so cool to find out about all the things that everyone is doing now. I've just done this and that. You know! I have moved from St. Louis to Florida and back, but I have found my home in Santa Cruz California. (Surf City) I've done quite a bit of travel'n back and forth 'cross these United States, and have only ventured to Canada once, for about 24 hours. In June my girlfriend (Sara), and I will be going to Mexico for a couple of weeks, to explore Cancun and the Yucatan Peninsula. This message would've gotten out a couple of weeks ago, but I had a major CRASH and had to build a new computer. I'm currently working for Texas Instruments here in Santa Cruz, and going back to school. In my free time, if I have any, I Mountain Bike and play discgolf at the nicest course in the country!! You can check out the WEB PAGE here: Discgolf.com. It was created and is maintained by a Hapner. I would like to wish all the best to everyone and have GREAT time at the reunion. Heather has tried her best to get me to cancel everything and go, but . . . I hope to keep in touch a lot easier now. My E-Mail address has changed too. Y'all can get me at Hapnin@Bigfoot.com. If in the Monterey Bay Area please give me a call.
(Updated 8/18/99) Baby pictures! Zeke Heller | Zeke and mom | Zeke strapped in tight Lora writes in e-mail: Hello all---- Just want to share our wonderful news! Our son, EZEKIEL AARON ("ZEKE"), was born on May 11th after long labor and finally a c-section. We are both doing great and the three of us love being a family. At birth he weighed 7 lbs. 13 oz. and measured 20 1/2 inches. By his first pediatrician appt. one week later, he was already 8 lb. 5 oz. and 21 inches long. This boy likes to eat!! Hope everyone is doing well and we would love to show him off---as soon as we fix the scanner problem, we'll try sending a photo. Lora (Koenig), Ian and Zeke Heller :) (Updated e-mail address 12/11/98) 585 West End Ave. #12 E After Kallah '88, I attended IC and then went off to college in Ohio. I got my Bachelor of Music Education in Music Therapy from the College of Wooster in May '92.....I spent the next 7 months doing my clinical training internship at Miami Children's Hospital in Florida, and passed my Board Certification in Music Therapy. I went back to Rochester (saw Reb Shaya frequently) for a year to work as a music therapist, do professional theater, direct youth theater, and teach Sunday school music/chorus. The temple sent me to a workshop for professionals in the world of Jewish music at Kutz Camp (NFTY) in Warwick, NY. It was there, July '94, that I met my husband Ian. I asked him to marry me the 2nd day--we were "officially" engaged that August, and in November I moved to NYC (Ian's home town) with a music therapy position at a children's hospital. We were married in Rochester in Sept. '95---Rabbi Bruce came in to officiate!! We took a belated honeymoon for our 2 year anniversary to Scotland and England---a beautiful trip. We had lunch in London with Charles Spungin (ILTC '88) on the day Princess Diana died. I finished my Master of Science in Special Education and my certification in Deaf ed. in Dec. '97. We're still in NYC where I'm working as a music therapist and special educator in early childhood. No Broadway debut, though I have gotten involved with the New York Deaf Theater. Ian recently gave up practicing law to dedicate full time to his management and production company--he now also has time for his music again. I've been back to Perlman 3 times since '88---in '90 and '93 to direct the theater program on the "other" side, and in '95 for Ian and Rabbi Bruce to meet. During those summers I saw Jared Genser, Evan Gold, Dave Schwartzman, Ben Kaplan, as well as several other old Kallah/IC mates. Over the years, I've kept in touch on and off with Evan, Martin Traub-Werner, JJ Goldhar, Stephanie Brodsky, Hagar Ben-Eliezar, Al Freedman, Rabbi Bruce...not nearly as many people or as regularly as I had hoped. I'd love to become re-acquainted!

1988. After Kallah, I returned to Montreal, where I completed my high school studies. Summer 1999 saw me in Vienna & Israel (non-BBYO trip), where I met a lot of Kallah alumni visiting the Bedouins in the middle of the Israeli desert. After Israel, I attended CEGEP (a 2 year junior college type program between HS & University - high school ends in Grade 11). [CEGEP = Crappy Education, Go Elsewhere People (according to a local comedian)]. 1991. University meant McGill University, a fine instituion right here in Montreal. There I completed a Bachelor of Commerce, and in 1994 began working for Ernst & Young. At the same time, I completed the CA program (equivalent to a U.S. CPA - Certified Pain in the Ass). I have been at Ernst & Young ever since, now in the position of Senior Corporate Auditor. 1998. And that is my life, so far; hey, its a work in progress.
(E-mail updated 1/27/99) I got married to my wife, Lisa, in 1996. We met at Hillel at the University of Arizona. I got my BA & JD from the University of Arizona and spent a semester during Junior year at Hebrew University in Jerusalem. I am currently a prosecutor at the Pima County Attorneys office in Tucson and will soon become the legal advisor for a number of departments and agencies of Pima County. On the side, I teach Jewish music at my synagogue during Sunday school and teach at the High School for Judaic Studies. Lisa is getting a Ph.D. in teaching second languages and teaches Sunday school at the Jewish Community Center. We continue to live in Tucson. We did go backpacking through Europe, and met up with Steve Shupper in Rome. We see Steve and his fiancé, Ilana, on a regular basis back in Tucson.
Most people know that the first year after our summer in Starlight, I spent travelling for BBYO as International N'siah. I got to see a lot of 1988 Participants and staff that year which was great, and in general I had a lot of fun, but was very excited to move on to school at Emory University in Atlanta, GA. I met my husband Greg, the summer after my freshman year of college. I went and worked as program supervisor at a Jewish summer camp at the Lake of the Ozarks in Missouri. Greg is from Kansas City, Missouri and had grown up going to the camp. I never went there as a child and 1990 was my first summer there. What can I say it was love at first sight. Greg had just finished his freshman year at Boston University, and so we dated long distance for three years before we both moved to Washington, D.C. I had a great time at Emory, was very active in my sorority, kept in touch a little bit with people from BBYO, but pretty much moved on from it. I majored in history and political science and then got ready to go to law school at George Washington University in D.C. I moved to Washington in the summer of 1993 and have been here ever since. Greg and I lived together for a couple of years and got engaged in March of 1995. We were married in St. Louis in March of 1996 the year I graduated from G.W. I now work in Washington, D.C. as a lawyer at a small litigation practice group. I really enjoy the litigation work I do. Greg is active in political fundraising. Currently, he is the finance director for Governor Parris Glendenning, who is the governor of Maryland. We lead an incredibly busy life that is filled with a lot of work, but is exciting and fun. I still have incredible memories about the summers I spent at BBPC in high school. Thinking back on all my experiences that I was privileged to have in BBYO, I think that the honor of coordinating KALLAH/ILTC was by far the best. There was nothing else that could compare to the great time I had that summer. I have loved hearing about everybody over the past year and I am looking forward to seeing and reading about everyone else at the reunion. Love, Tracy Reichman Kalik

Family -- On May 24th I'm marrying Susan Silver of Alexandria, VA. Susan operates her own human resource consulting business -- designing training programs for assisted living facilities and teaching management communications courses at several local firms. She graduated from Virginia in 1990 and received a Masters from Marymount University. We are buying a house in Arlington and plan to stay a while. We were introduced by Susan's best friend, Gwen. Gwen was an intern at my cousin's law firm when I first moved to DC. We were introduced in December, 1996, had our first date in January and I proposed on June 23, 1997. Work -- I graduated from Tulane University in 1991 with a BA in Economics. I went to Indiana University for my Ph.D. in Business Economics and Public Policy, which I completed in October 1995. I have since been working in the Antitrust Division at the Federal Trade Commission. I analyze mergers and acquisitions for potential violations of antitrust laws. Later this year, I will serve for the first time as an expert witness in an antitrust trial. I have also published an article in the 'Antitrust Bulletin' discussing whether "vaporware" and false product announcements in general are harmful to consumers. More publications (hopefully) are forthcoming. Friends -- I keep in touch with Josh Yellin (he was my neighbor in Ohio after all) and Jennifer Fernald. I frequently bumped into Rachel Armel while she was living in DC. And, over the past year have caught up with Marc "The Strongest GAG Pound for Pound" Blattner, who lives in Baltimore. And of course, my sister Julie. Places -- We just bought a house in Arlington, VA and plan to stay here awhile.
Updated 3/14/99 Denise (Dinkin) Liebowitz If anyone is in NY, I would love to see you! Its amazing the impact 4 weeks can have on your life. I couldnt attend ILTC, but Kallah changed my life in many ways. It really formed my Jewish identity, and I made some friendships that have impacted my life tremendously. I have stayed in close touch with Evan Gold, Mitch Lotenberg and Ben Lerner (in my ISI group in 89). My friendship with Mitch has changed my life more than I ever would have expected 10 years ago. Mitch and I stayed in touch, but I never went to NY to meet his friends. Never, that is, until his wedding in August of 1995. I went to NY to go to his wedding, and I fell in love with his best man. Two years later, Mitch and his wife Paula were in my wedding as I married Howard (Howie) Liebowitz, Mitchs best friend. Conducting my wedding ceremony was Rabbi Bruce. He is in Northern VA now, and my parents belong to his synagogue (Congregation Adat Reyim). He is a very special rabbi, and I feel privileged that he has impacted my Jewish identity so much. Can you believe that since Kallah, he has one more child, and Mimi (the oldest) is going to college next year! As for what I have been up to the last 10 years I went to school at Virginia Tech, graduated in December, 1994 with a B.S. in Management. I went back home to Northern VA, and lived with my parents. Now that I was back at home, I wanted to give back a little to BBYO. I did this by helping Northern Virginia Council start up a new BBYO chapter in my area, and I became an advisor. Unfortunately, though, I had to give this up when I was spending every other weekend traveling to Brooklyn to see Howie. I worked at Congregation Har Shalom (a conservative synagogue in Potomac, MD) for 2 ˝ years. This was my life until Howie made me move to NY. The good news is that many of you live in that area. Im still new to NY, so please call me to get together. I would love to see you! I am working in White Plains, NY at MetLife Small Business Center. I plan on being in NY for a REALLY long time, if not the rest of my life, so give me a call the next time you find yourself in the Big Apple!
Updated 1/28/99 1939 Stillwell Ave. I am no longer working as manager of the party goods store. I am currently a greeting cards salesman in the Long Island, NY area. (Previous update:) Work - Graduated St. Johns University with a degree in Athletic Administration in 1994. Worked for the NY Yankees in the strike-shortened 1994 season. Worked for the Hudson Valley Renegades, a minor league baseball team in the NY-Penn League for one season. Currently a manager of a party goods store Party Fair, for those of you in the NY/NJ area. Life In March of 1992, I met my future wife, Paula, at a college sorority party. We dated for 3 years and got married August 13, 1995 (for those of you who want to send an anniversary card). In November of 1997, Paula and I happily found out that she was pregnant. The baby is due to be born July 12th, and that is why we unfortunately cannot attend the reunion. Kallah/ILTC This is the hard part. What did I get out of Kallah/ILTC? I got a couple of lasting friendships Denise Liebowitz and Lori Gershenson, both of whom attended my wedding. (I found Denise a great guy in my best friend.) In closing, I wish Paula and I could be there, but for a good reason, we cannot attend. I would love to hear from all of you, so dont be a stranger. Just keep in mind that Ill have a newborn, so writing back will be difficult. I have an e-mail address; however, I dont own a computer, so it might take me some time to get back to you.
Updated 1/27/99 6372 La Costa Drive #204 I got married on October 3, 1998 to Jason Schwartz! (Previous update:) Shalom Y'all! It's been ten long years since we spent that remarkable summer in Starlight. So much changes, so much stays the same! THE HIGH SCHOOL YEARS I finished high school, attending a secular and a performing arts school concurrently. I remained active in BBYO and was the Regional N'siah for the Greater Jersey Region (an incredible memory). I also attended the March of the Living '90 with BBYO -- one of the most rewarding experiences of my life. It was a wonderful trip - one that I was lucky enough to share with so many of you. It was high school: it was fun and then it was over! THE COLLEGE YEARS I attended NYU and received a double degree in Drama and Speech Communications. I was president of my sorority - Delta Phi Epsilon and also served as president of NYU's Inter-Greek Council. (Oh yeah, and once in a while I got to eat lunch with Ben Kaplan!) I worked at Kallah / ILTC 1993 and 1994 in various capacities. In 1993, I was on the Creative Arts Staff teaching Drama and in 1994 I was the Administrative Coordinator. It was a unique and special experience to be "staff " at Kallah and ILTC -- maybe even more extraordinary than going through the program as a teen. (Imagine taking Shaya's class as an adult? Doing rikkud in your 20's? Participating in havdalah under the stars with 200 teens who look just like you used to...) I also had the chance to re-aquaint with old BBYO friends and re-kindle friendships. I also spent a lot of time in New York working at various Jewish communal institutions: the Museum of Jewish Heritage, the Council of Jewish Federations and teaching Hebrew School classes about the Holocaust and Anti-Semistism. College was a terrific time for me and I wouldn't do over one thing differently! THE YEARS AFTER After graduating from college I moved to Florida for a job and a boy (not really in that order). I started my career as a Campaign Associate at the Jewish Federation in Boca Raton, FL. The job lasted but the boy did not. I met a man shortly thereafter who has become my fiance - Jason Schwartz. I guess it was my "bashert" to move here. I am totally and madly in love and we are planning an October 1998 wedding in New Jersey. Currently, I work at the Jewish Federation in Palm Beach. I am the Assistant Director of the Women's Division. Jewish communla work (and development) is very interesting and exciting but there is never enough money to meet all of our needs. I hope you have all spent the last 10 years in happy and healthy times. I wish you all wonderful success in life. Please stay in touch and call me when you come through Florida (everyone seems to migrate south at least once in the winter!) Stacking my chair,
(New 12/22/98) 85 Brainerd Rd, Unit 210 Got married back in 1995. Lived in St. Louis for 3 years and am now in Boston. After graduating in 1994 from Brown University, I received a public service grant and lived in Nairobi, Kenya for one year where I co-founded a small organization called the "Akala Self-Help Project". We trained street boys aged 15-22 to make akala sandals, hand made from used car tires. We then sold them as a means of sustaining the project and so the boys could provide for themselves. The project continued for one year after my departure and is currently being reorganized. I have returned to Kenya on three occasions since I left in 1995 to assist with the project, but also to assist in human rights education -- which a few times has meant running from the Kenyan police! I was a computer programmer in Chicago for eight months Evanston actually. The money was good, but going from village life to life in front of a computer on the ninth floor of an Evanston highrise was simply not for me. I quit my job and was a bleacher bum at Wrigley for a few weeks until I found I could teach -- uncertified -- in the public schools of our nations capital. I currently am in my second year teaching (now certified) in Washington, DC Public Schools. Though my school has closed three times because of fire code violations (leaking roofs), I thoroughly enjoy teaching. I had a fourth grade class last year and am now the computer dude at my school. Teaching is all-consuming and often inspiring. For many of my students, I am the first white guy they have ever gotten to know, leave alone the whole Jewish thing! For most of them, I also am giving them their first exposure to computers. My students inspire me. They make me laugh and cry and even when they don=92t, they give me quite a few stories to carry home with me! Beyond that, I have unique exposure to the dire educational inequalities across our society. I also recently finished a manuscript of a book about a community of Ugandans that practice Judaism from African villages. I am procrastinating from trying to get it sold as I write this! From Kallah/ILTC, I only keep regularly in touch with Amy Herman who thankfully regularly pressured me to get my registration in! I saw Jonathan Ellis of Kansas City about six years ago, which I can hardly count as "keeping in touch." Through Evan and Denises diligent work, I recently met with both Evan Gold and Aimee Colker here in Washington. When I look back on what made me who I am, what gave me the courage to wander into the poorest of Third World villages and start a project and the leadership to succeed as a young, proud Jewish guy in an all-black urban school, I think of BBYO. My summer of leadership training was a large part of that. I look forward to hearing from people! Matt Meyer
Update 3/14/99 Hi everyone. Just wanted to let you all know that Matthew Harrison Miller was born on Tuesday, Feb.23, 1999. He weighed 6lbs10oz and was 20 inches long. He has lots of dark hair. Everything is great so far. He sleeps 3-4hrs at a time, so we're pretty lucky. Keep in touch, Bryna (Previous update:) Married name: Bryna Miller. Met husband, Greg at University of Cincinnati. (We were in ONR BBYO together.) Graduated from U.C. College of Pharmacy in 1995. Work as a Pharmacist at a Long Term Care pharmacy in Cincinnati. Bought a house in May, 1996. Cocker Spaniel named Murphy. Active in the Young Leadership Division of Cincinnati Federation. Ran the Young Leadership Division 1998 Federation Campaign. BBG advisor for the past 2 years. Kallah/ILTC gave me leadership skills I use in day to day life. Also provided me with lifelong friends.
Updated 12/11/98 275 Glen Riddle Rd., Apt. A-24 (Previous Update:) Family Well going to be married on September 19th, 98. I will be adopting a 3 year old Cocker Spaniel, her name is Kayla. She is a very nice Catholic girl, who I met because Heather Shore dumped mean. Just kidding, actually no Jewish girls would date me after High School, Namely because there is like 2 Jewish girls in Lancaster, PA. But we have been dating for over 8 years very happily!!! Work....I currently work at JP Morgan in the Mutual Fund department, working with $5 mill+ accounts. Not as glamorous as a lawyer, news lady or traveling around the world, but hay it pays the bills. I went to the mighty Basketball power Drexel University in Philadelphia, with Evan, and like never saw him. I majored in Finance/Accounting, grad in 1995 Friends hmmm, well lets see, I spoken with Amiee Colker quite a bit since I received notice of the Reunion, and it was great getting together. And I got back in touch with Scott Schneider. And well Evan and I have been keeping touch since he graduated college. But other than that I have not really seen or talked with any one else since camp days...... Kallah/ILTC that one is tough.....Well how do to tell how something so awesome as those 7 weeks impacted your life??? There is not a week or day that goes by that I don't think about a time or person from that time period... It changed me I don't know how to put it in words but I am different...I did not really change religiously because I don't think it was all about being Jewish, but maybe more about growing as a person.... Being with and living with people from all over the world, learning about their culture and lives and families, that was the best part....I felt like I was in Israel, Belgium or England, by being with those people and growing together through those weeks in the woods. Believe me I am the person I am today because of those weeks, I volunteer with youth groups and schools and give back time, I think that is how I try and repay for the time I had Kallah/ILTC, because God knows I could never give back all it gave me............. Places well I am currently living in the Great state of Delaware!!! No seriously if you ever have a chance to avoid this state do it, there is nothing here except beaches and credit card companies. Well were have I been, no where extravagant as Turkey..... but I have seen most of the East coast ...Is that traveling though??????
Presently, I am getting my MBA at the University of Chicago Graduate School of Business. I am graduating in June and can't wait! I plan to take at least a month off and hopefully do some traveling with my husband, Marc Hammer. Following that, I will be starting a position at Sprint. It is a general management rotational program in Kansas City -- my home town! Marc and I are so excited as we are both from KC and both of our families are still there. It will be great! Marc and I got married this past August at our synagogue in KC after which we had a wonderful 12-day honeymoon in Northern Italy. Marc and I actually grew up together -- we even went to the same high school, but did not know one another until three and a half years ago when we met in a bar! We were both home for Thanksgiving weekend (I was living in NYC -- he was living in Chicago). We talked a little bit at the bar... he went home and mentioned to his mom that he met me... his mom knew my grandmother... they started a little match making conspiracy and one year later, Marc asked me out! Six months after that, we were engaged and the rest is history! We both feel very lucky as our families absolutely love each other and we have a lot of fun! After high school, I attended Smith College in Northampton, MA. There, I majored in mathematics. It was a great place to go to school and I still keep in touch with many alumnae. In fact I am going to my five year college reunion this year, too! Following college, I moved to NYC where I worked as a financial analyst for three years at Chemical Securities Inc. in high yield origination. NYC was so awesome and I miss the pace and excitement of the city a lot! While there I saw a few old Kallah friends... Evan Gold, Matt Minkin and Seth Shapiro. Also, I always appreciated hearing from Julie Levy. I would love to hear from old friends to hear what's going on. Please keep in touch and have fun at reunion!
(Taken from a mass e-mail) Okay all, Up until now, I have resisted sending out a mass e-mail to all of you, because my graduate school existence is less than thrilling. Oops, before I go on -- I was one of the Tucson folk, brown curly (semi big) hair, average height and eveything else, if you can't remember who I am, send me an e-mail and ask. . . Okay moving on. I am currently in the process of getting my doctorate (which is taking forever), and living the sad little life of a graduate research assistant. But as of this past Thursday night, my life has become significantly more interesting. My boyfriend of nearly two years proposed!! I said yes, and have since been wandering around with a goofy grin and babbling to anyone who will listen about how happy I am etc., etc. Seeing as you all are a relatively captive audience via e-mail, I thought that I would share my news with you as well. I hope that you all are happy and healthy and I cant wait to see you all this summer -- I will be at the reunion, but I won't be at the hotel. Anyways, talk to you all soon! Brenda
Update 3/14/99 Hello everyone (Previous update) HELLO fellow Kallah 1988ers! It's me - Erica Rabin from Canada. For those of you who do not remember me, allow me to remind you. I was one of the brunettes from Calgary Alberta Canada... the one who spent four days at camp before winding up in the hospital in Wilke's Barre Pennsylvania for a week! Somehow I managed to catch the dreaded Hamburger disease before it became such a popular disease to get. What a sad way to be remembered! However, I did return to camp and managed to make many great memories and have a terrific time. Therefore I wish that I could come to the reunion... but alas, I will be absent again. I thought I would submit a little tidbit about myself to help us all catch up and keep in touch! In 1990 I moved to Edmonton Alberta (only about three hours from Calgary. Three hours north mind you, meaning further from the US and colder too). Here I attend the University of Alberta. Outside of my studies I have been able to travel and work in Israel, keep in touch with the Canada gang and I even find time to play for the prestigous Edmonton Jewish Women's Softball League (unfortunately I am more of a handicap than an asset...). I will not be attending the reunion weekend because it coincides with my convocation from medical school - which I have worked four long years to attend. I then plan to backpack in Italy for a short break before starting a residency in emergecny medicine (yes, just like ER) here in Edmonton. I have included my email and home addresses so please keep in touch. I hope you all have a BLAST at the reunion!!! Take Care, erica
(New 12/22/98) 36 Ingate Terrace After Kallah/ILTC, I finished high school and went to Bloomsburg University in PA. After I graduated with my BS in Special Education I moved to Fairfax VA and taught in an elementary school (a class for students with moderate/severe mental retardation). I didn't like the DC area and moved to Baltimore. I taught a class for the same population in a middle school. I got married last April (4/98) to a wonderful man. We are still in Baltimore and I'm at the same school but teaching a class for kids with autism. I love my job. I keept in touch with quite a few people, but over the 10 years Scott Ullman is the only one I still talk to. Hope everyone is doing well.
This is Jay Sand writing to you from Morgantown, West Virginia where I currently live, breathe and loaf. Do you all remember me? I was the good-looking, brilliant yet sensitive guy from Central Region East who could bench press Peter Stark and left all the women swooning. Oh, wait, scratch that. That was Lloyd. Actually, I was the really cool, hip-artist guy from Central Region East who played guitar and said "dude" all the time. Oh, no, wait. That was Ben. Geez, who the heck was I? Was I that unassuming, curly-haired guy from Central Region East who hung out with Ben and Lloyd? I don't remember and actually it doesn't matter. It has been years, hasn't it? Well, after graduating from the University of Pennsylvania in '94 as an American history major, I decided to pursue the career that always most appealed to me -- professional bum. Oh, sure, I tell the government and my parents that I'm a freelance writer, and in fact I have done a good bit of writing about activism, radical politics and independent media for publications like Wired, the Philadelphia City Paper and Z Magazine, but in reality my main occupation is finding enough money in enough creative ways to avoid having to break down and get a real job. My modus operandi over the last couple years has been to decide upon a trip or adventure that sounds like a whole lot of fun and then figure out how I can write enough articles about it to pay off the travel expenses. Last summer, for example, I bounced around California for a couple months and then worked my way back east through Chicago. During the trek I observed the protests that were going on outside of the Republican and Democratic National Conventions and wrote about them here and there to make up some of the cash I spent on the adventure. I spent the last summer in South East Asia, Vietnam mainly, where I almost died climbing a volcano, took a treacherous bus ride across Indonesia with several bucketsful of snakes, ducked between bullets to see ruins in Cambodia and lived in Saigon for two month with a friend of mine who works there, researching and writing about Vietnam's changing economy and culture. More than anything else over the last couple years I have become interested in activism and political change, and have been involved with a number of organizations that do kooky things to make the world a different and maybe even better place. Those interests influence the content my others. Though I have no plans to settle down like a normal human being, some day I may resign myself to a more steady income. I've actually done some world wide web content providing, which has provided me with good cash for what amounts to a whole bunch of late night, make-my-own-hours web surfing. I also have a novel in the works, and though I've been working on it in spurts I hope to have a good draft ready soon. I wouldn't call it literature, but it's probably not the kind of thing that people will pick up in a dentist's office when they have already read every issue of People. As for my musical interests, I've spent a lot of time over the last couple months in Philadelphia where very talented friends of mine are helping me produce the scam that I am calling my first CD. I write a lot of songs and have performed them in coffee houses, in bars and on street corners literally all over the world, but the last two years I have played primarily in Boston, New York and Philly. The CD offers 12 of my original tunes, most with a band backing me up. Ill let you know how you can purchase one (if you really want) by dropping me a line at "jay@tao.ca". Buy two and support the cause. So, why am I living in West Virginia? My girlfriend, Lauren -- yes, the same girlfriend I was dating in high school -- is in the Phd. program for counseling psychology at the University of West Virginia. No matter what you hear in all the incest jokes, Morgantown is a great place, physically beautiful, very friendly and laid back. To be honest, I really, really like it here. Lauren and I just got a puppy, a wonderful, sweet, loving rascal named Ned. At the moment were a happy little family. There's always more to say, but not much reason to say it. I'm writing a lot. Playing guitar. Traveling a lot as always, never content to stay in one place. Working on the web. Living cheap and living well. Trying to do some good while still having as much fun as anyone should be allowed to have.
New Entry 8/18/99 Phil Sanders
I graduated from Syracuse in May of '94. That summer I lived in Boulder, CO with my current girlfriend (she was nice, but a bit of a case). Anyway, I left in July to work on a cruise ship up in Alaska in the summers and in Mexico in the winter. It was great. That is were I met my current girlfriend. It was a 6 month contract and I got off in Jan of 95. From there, I lived in San Fran for a couple of montths just hanging out. It is an incredible city. I then lived at home for a couple of months. It was o.k. Working at good 'ole Applebee's as a cook. In June, I went to Honduras for 3 weeks for a volunteer program with a Jewish org with Jared Genser as well. In August, the real fun starts. Hillary & I left for Fiji, New Zealand, Australia, Indonesia, Singapore, Malaysia and Thailand. We spent 8 months on the road. In Thailand (March 96), we ran out of money, so we bought a round trip ticket to San Fran. We spent that year in Alaska. The summer was in Denali Nat'l Park and the winner in Girdwood. A cold and darrk winter, but beautiful all the same. Then, (almost done), in March 97, we left the country again back to Thailand with a 5 week stop in the Phillipines where my brother David is currently living as an internationnal investor. We spent 14 months going to Bangladesh, India, Nepal, Pakistan, Egypt, Jordan, Israel, Turkey, and Prague. We got back about a week ago. It was incredible. It is really shocking to be back home. Sorry, it is so long. Use whatever you want or anything. If you want any stories, just write and let me know. I look forward to seeing you. I hope you are having a wonderful day. Scott.

Well thats about it. I hope everyone has/had a good reunion weekend and keep in touch!
Well, I must sheepishly admit that I too will be tying the knot in about a year. As of Sunday, two weeks ago, I am officialy engaged to Ilana, my wonderful companion and significant other of 3 and a half years. We will both be attending the reunion. We will be in D.C. for the week prior to the reunion staying with friends in the D.C. area. If anyone else is planning on staying in D.C. for a few extra days, let us know. Also, a Mazel Tov to Yael Azuelos Elfassy. For those of you who know her, she is three months pregnant. Yael married Ascher about 2 years ago and is living in the greater Toronto area. She is thinking about visiting D.C. during the reunion which would be lots of fun. Looking forward to seeing you in June. Steve
Updated 8/18/99 Aaron Snow Permanent E-mail: aaron@aaronsnow.net Busy few months! The music scene is good, and I'm starting to travel a bit (NYC, Jersey shore). I'm working on a couple of Internet-related startups, and programming part-time as well. Last month I got my EMT license, so at next reunion I can do CPR on everybody. Can't wait to take a vacation ... That's it for now. - AJS (Previous update:) The latest dish: After the wedding in July, Reva and I took a honeymoon -- we flew out to Glacier National Park in Montana, and then flew to Salt Lake City, Utah, and drove around the state visiting all the great parks there. Right after the honeymoon, there was a change in plan: I drove right back to Seattle and went to work for Congressional candidate Heidi Behrens-Benedict (see http://www.heidiforcongress.com ) in the Seattle suburbs. After the election Reva flew out to Seattle, and she and I drove down the coast to Los Angeles (beautiful trip!) and then across to Philadelphia. Things are good on this end. Philly is growing on me rapidly: good food, great music scene, tons to do, etc. We rented an apartment just off South Street (see updated address below). I've been playing a lot of music (there are open-mics everywhere in this neighborhood) and meeting fellow musicians. I've also been busy with law school applications and I plan to get involved on the campaign finance reform issue soon. Of course, finally living with my wife again is nice too! (We spent all last year on opposite coasts.) Reva's still enjoying med school; this is the last week of classes for her, and then she gets one month off before starting rotations in January. Take care, - Aaron (Previous update:) Hi all ... in the true tradition of BBYO programs, I'm writing this at the last minute, so I'll keep it short and sweet. Let's see, highlights... After high school and my unsuccessful bid for GAG in '89, I went off to college (Harvard, '93, in computer science). I spent some time at the wonderful Hillel there (including a stint on their steering committee, with Jeremy Hockenstein, ILTC '87), but mostly I took classes and played in a rock/alternative band called the Press. After graduation I stayed in Boston and took a computer programming job with a small company in Central Square. About two months later, at a fellow graduate's "no undergrads" party (we were all feeling lame about hanging out with our undergrad friends), I met my future fiancee, Reva Edelstein. Reva apparently participated in a couple of Young Judea events as a teenager in New London, CT, but I've forgiven her and so should you. One post-college year in Boston was enough for me, so Reva and I left over the summer. I took to independent contracting, to make more time for songwriting and playing -- in St. Louis for a few months, then Singapore (!) for a month, and then Chicago for another nine months or so, before the contracting got boring for me, the lab work got boring for Reva, and we both decided to take a scenery change. So I took a job at Microsoft, Reva found a new lab in Seattle, and we moved to the northwest. Microsoft was a terrific place. (Seattle's JCC has a 500-member softball league. Who knew there were so many young Jews in Seattle?) But Reva left a year ago to start medical school at U. Penn in Philadelphia, so I stayed in Seattle this year to finish up my work with Microsoft, and then last month I made the long drive back to Philly (via Los Angeles), where we'll be for the next three years after our wedding in July (in New London, CT; honeymoon in Montana and Utah). If you're in the area, look me up with any luck, I'll be songwriting and recording during the days, and playing gigs in the evenings. It is/was/will be great to see you all! - Aaron
(New 12/22/98) London, UK (no address given) Well since 88 I completed school and then university and ended up working for that great US insititution - Citibank - more recently Citigroup! I am finding myself more and more frequently in the US, although often in the New York or Stamford CT areas. Personally I met a beautiful young lady in June 1997 and 9 months later whisked her off to Venice for 24 hours to propose. We are planning our wedding for October 1999 and am in the throes of buying a new flat in London to make our marital home. When my business trips were restricted to Europe, I met up with Daria Goldstein in Brussels and email has enabled me to reestablish infrequent contact with Heather Shore, Marc Hershovitz, Seth Shapiro, Lora Heller and Martin TW. I am happy to entertain anyone who may be in London at any time, just let me know you're on your way. As Lora says in her update, I met up with her and Ian on the day Princess Diana died which was a fascinating day throughout London - infact Lora was the one who broke the news to me!! ("Where were you when you found out Princess Di was dead...?") Anyway, sorry I couldn't make the reunion but I hope to catch up with all of you when I have some time at the end of a business trip. All the best, Charles Updated 12/11/98 4650 Mansion Street, Second Floor I recently got married (Nov 21, 1998) to my best friend, Mark. We met at a Matza Ball

Updated 12/11/98 Scott Ullman After an interesting year living in California I've found that I actually miss the cold and snow and ice and snow and mountains and snow and people... did I mention the snow??? in Calgary. So I'm moving back and continuing my career in the computer field there. (Previous update:) I went to Kallah only, not ILTC. It seems so long ago... I'm not married nor do I have any children. I went to school at SAIT in Calgary, Alberta, Canada and have a degree in Computer Technology. Right now I work for MCI Systemhouse as a Senior Computer Operator. I started there in September of 1994 in Calgary but just this past November of '97 I transferred to Napa, California where I presently live and work. Big and exciting move. I really only stay in touch with one Kallah person, Michelle Hirsch. I don't know if you have her new information or not, she's moved many times and is engaged to be married next month in fact. Kallah brought out something in me, it cracked my shell of shyness I suppose. Ever since that wonder summer I have had confidence in who I am and what I have and will accomplish. I think being so close to so many peers, and wonderful ones at that, really set in my mind that I'm one of the lucky ones. I had the chance to meet people from all over and it was then that moving from Canada to the USA was first an idea for me. I do wish I could make the reunion but it just isn't a possibility. I hope everyone has a wonderful time as I'm sure they will.
I graduated in 1994 from Georgetown University with a BS in Spanish. After graduation, I spent several months in Israel doing a variety of programs--ulpan, Volunteers for Israel and Livnot U'lehibanot (which I highly recommend). Upon my return, I lived in New York for a few months and then accepted a job with a Jewish campus organization in Philadelphia. After leaving Philly, I returned to Maryland where I worked at the Discovery Channel for a year and a half in the Production Management and Website Communications departments. Last September I joined my current position at a company called M2 Limited (also in Maryland). Our company localizes software and other related materials (help files, manuals, web pages, etc.) into 30 languages. I work on the technical implementation side where I incorporate the translation into the code files. It has been a great job so far and the people are fantastic. On the personal side, while working in Philadelphia I met my boyfriend who is from South Africa. I have had the opportunity to travel to South Africa several times in the past 3 years and I have fallen in love with Cape Town. South Africa is a beautiful country with a lot of wonderful things to see and do. If anyone would like to get in touch with me, my e-mail address is jwerner@m2ltd.com. Have a fantastic summer.
